Living Physics Portal: Physics of Alveoli

Abstract: Section 5 of the Physics of the Respiratory System Module investigates the parallel nature of the branching in the respiratory system and uses the Alveoli Laplace Apparatus to actively investigate the physics principles guiding the expansion and contraction of the alveoli. This section includes learning objectives with matched assessment questions, reading and writing in the curriculum, and a hands-on activity. The curriculum reviews and expands upon introductory physics content.
