The Living Physics Portal is an online environment for physics faculty to share and discuss free curricular resources for teaching physics for life sciences. The objective of the Portal is to improve the education of the next generation of medical professionals and biologists by making physics classes more relevant for life sciences students. We do this by supporting physics instructors in finding and creating curricular materials and engaging in community discussions with other instructors to improve their courses.
The Living Physics Portal contains resources contributed by registered users. Resources in the Vetted and Peer-Reviewed Libraries have been screened by the editorial team and judged on the accuracy, quality, and appropriateness of content to the mission of the Portal. Resources in the Community Library and comments in discussion forums have not been screened by Living Physics Portal editors. Only registered users may view content in the Community Library and post in community discussions. Considering the real-time nature of community discussions, it is impossible to verify the information posted. The Living Physics Portal is not responsible for inappropriate content or copyright infringement in contributions or posts from users, although inappropriate materials will be removed when found.
The Living Physics Portal does not vouch for nor warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any contribution or post, and is not responsible for the contents of any contribution or post. Users should be particularly wary of medical, legal or other professional advice posted in community discussions and recognize that it is no substitute for in-person consultation with a competent professional. Contributions and posts express the views of the author(s), not necessarily the views of the AAPT, the Living Physics Portal or its editorial staff, or any entity associated with it.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the Living Physics Portal to contribute or post any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or violative of U.S. law. You agree not to contribute or post material that in the opinion of the editorial staff fosters or promotes activity that is illegal in the U.S.
You agree not to contribute or post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have permission from the copyright holder, except as permitted by the "fair use" provisions of the U.S. copyright laws (in general this means brief excerpts only). You agree to abide by the wishes of the editors and community managers in interpreting and enforcing these rules. Refusal to cooperate with editors and community managers or to abide by these rules is grounds for revocation of your posting privileges.
Do not contribute or post advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or commercial solicitations. Do not contribute or post the same or similar messages or threads to multiple forums; multiple threads on the same topic; or an excessive number of threads on any topic within a limited period of time. We will notify the Internet service provider of any party contributing or posting objectionable messages.
Do not contribute or post links to pornography - the editorial staff will be the judge of what constitutes pornography. If you're not sure whether a link is appropriate, contact a member of the editorial staff before posting it.
Any user who feels that contributed materials or posted messages are objectionable should contact the editors or community managers.
