2D Biomechanics - 2D Video Analysis

Highlights: Students use 2D video analysis of their own videos of human movement. Sample videos also provided.
Abstract: Video analysis is used as part of the Biomechanics 2D submodule, building on 1D video analysis in the Biomechanics 1D submodules. Students take their own videos of a human/animal movement of interest to them and analyze it for 2D kinematics and the 2D forces acting on the subject. The lab activities (in another section) involve using video analysis with 2D force plates, but students can practice taking and analyzing their own video data out of the classroom, as homework. Video analysis also can be used as a lab activity in circumstances where force plates are not available, prefaced by the prediction sheets (another section).
Resource Types: In-class activity, Lab, Homework, Student reading, Instructor supplement, Lecture materials, Video
