Highlights: a set of 9 short readings to help students learn to "read the physics in a graph"
Abstract: These readings demonstrate for the students how physical meaning is coded in graphs in a variety of physical contexts. Also included are three general readings about how to draw, read, and interpret graphs in general, including two on how to use graphs to make sense of derivatives (rates of change) and integrals (accumulated change). These allow us to use derivatives and integrals graphically even in an algebra-based class — a more honest approach than suppressing them in a discussion of mechanics.
