Lunge Scenarios - video analysis

Highlights: 2D video analysis of human lunges. Sample videos provided.
Abstract: Lunges are a relatively simple expansion to 2D kinematics from the horizontal weight shifts in the previous 1D motion with 2D forces module. Video analysis is used here as part of the Biomechanics 2D submodule, building on 1D video analysis skills in the previous modules. Students can use sample videos of a lunge or take their own videos of a lunge and analyze their data for 2D kinematics and the 2D forces acting on the person. Although video analysis is incorporated into lab activities with force plates (in another section), students can also do it on their own at home or as group activity in class without force plates.
