Biomechanics - 1D Motion 2D Forces with Friction supplement

Download1
Highlights: Supplement includes friction and is interspersed with 10 short student practice activities.
Abstract: This supplement summarizes the main ideas leading up to basic friction with motion in 1D. Student practice activities are at the end of each section. Sections can be used independently. Versions with and without answers are provided. This supplement supports the Biomechanics - 1D Motion 2D forces submodule activities of the Biomechanics - Motion and Forces Module, which introduces kinematics and Newton's Laws in the context of human movement and humans moving objects. Modeling the human body as a point object and looking at sequences of simple motion segments are key differences from the standard mechanics approach.
Resource Types: In-class activity, Lecture materials, Pre-class assignment, Student reading, Instructor supplement, Restricted access
Remote Learning Ready: This resource has been designed or adapted for use in remote learning.
